Love bites

My son loves giving love bites. I hate getting them. This morning I noticed a bunch of red bite marks on my shoulders. I counted a total of 8 all together from both shoulders. He really doesn't bite out of anger ,well sometimes, but its more of he rests his head on my shoulder then takes a big bite out of it. That's why I call them love bites. I hope he gets the memo soon that I prefer kisses over love bits.

Maybe its revenge for always picking his nose. Look at that intense face I have.

I heart little boys

My little boy has changed my perspective on a lot of things. Daegen is a high energy kid. Every where I go I get a comment about how active he is. They say "he is the most active little boy I've seen", Or "Wow he never stops" , or "Does he ever get tired?". To me Daegens energy is very normal , I don't know any different. But all I know is I'm very tired by 6:30 his bed time.
But when he is in bed I get to think of our day and I get to tell Brock of all the fun things Daegen has learned or done that day. Life will never be looked at the same now that I see it through a little boys perspective.
I look at cars differently every big truck I see I now hear "CAAARRR". Or Playing out side when its kinda cold and maybe sprinkling I see it as an opportunity to go play with rocks and the out side toys. I even (believe it or not) will put my child in unmatched clothes. Either his shirt is dirty or his pants are wet and I'll just throw what I have on him because we all know that there just going to get dirty again anyways and he could careless what he is wearing.
Playing with the kitchen supplies brings another diminution to his toys and why wouldn't you want to bring more life to your boring toys. We also love finding his cars in our cups or pots and pans. He loves hiding his toys in the kitchen cupboards.
He now also will pick up my computer and bring it over to me saying baby, baby so I can show him Babies. He likes the Movie trailer of the "babies" movie coming out. He always smiles and then gives the babies kisses.
The best thing about Daegen is he is always up for a good laugh. He will tease you and laugh and smile. Our new joke is he will pretend he is sleeping and he will say Honk shew, honk shew. and I'll look back at him and say Wake up you sleepy head. and he laughs hysterically. He loves it.
I love Daegen and I'm very grateful for him. Last night he had a hard night , not sure what was going on but he wasn't settling down. So I held him and tickled his tummy (he loves this) then I scratched his back and we talked about our day. I told him he was such a sweet boy and how it was so nice he gave G.G. a big kiss, then he laughed. I told him how much mommy and daddy loved him , he sighed. I went on and on about everything we did that day and somethings he would laugh and then some times he would make a little noise. It was a trying day but the night made up for it.
We love you Daegen. Thank you for bringing a new perspective to our life.

Daegen's his name and cars his game.

I have posted this obsession before but its 10 times worse. He lives and breaths and tastes cars. His whole life is CAR. Today at church I realized how bad it has gotten when in the middle of Sacrament meeting he yells out CAR!!! Beep beep !!! VROOM!!!! when I handed him a car to play with. Every time he sees a car its CAR!!! BEEP BEEP !!! VROOM!!! as loud and as serious as can be. Its pretty dang cute if you ask me. He must get his Passion for things from Brock.

Going Banana's

We have had a lot of Communication tantrums lately. Daegen every Morning and Afternoon and evening will say nana and sign Banana. Every time I will go get a banana and peel it either cut it or hand him little pieces. He will then turn his head and shove the banana on the floor and say banana. This would happen at least four times a day. I was literally going bananas over this banana issue. So I got smart after about a week of dealing with this. I just handed him a banana with the peel on it. He put it in his mouth and realized it did taste right. Then he handed it to me and jabbered something. so I peeled a little bit down. It worked!!! He then kept asking me for more. So I kept peeling it. He will eat Banana's!!!! But remember only with the peel on.

Here he is enjoying his delicious banana with the peel on.

meet the new pups and state capital

Brock had some business to take care of in Eugene so we rode down there with him. We didn't drive 2 hours for nothing we were meeting a Chinook dog breeder. Her dog just had some puppies and Brock really wanted to meet them and see what they were all about. (Brock has been researching dogs since our dogs died. He thinks Chinooks are the breed for us to have.) They were pretty cute pups but what pups aren't cute, really. Daegen was in love and would ask to hold the tiny puppies and kiss them and hold them. By the time we were ready to leave his black shirt was covered in Hair. It was gross. I was for sure turned off by the breed. But you never know I guess.
Then as we were driving home we decide to stop at the state Capitol. For those of you that don't remember 4th grade geography, the state capitol in Salem NOT Portland. We got out walked around took some pics, had an in interaction with some squirrels and went home.

fun trip but a little to long of a car ride for the Daegy Monster.

beach trip 2 of 2

Second day we took it easy went out for breakfast then took a nap. When Daegs got up we headed to the beach and relaxed ,flew a kite and played in the sand. He chased some birds then it was time for his second nap. We walked home and cleaned up the house, packed up our car then headed home the long way. We thought we would drive to Tillamook for some squeaky cheese and an ice cream cone. We did think we would have enough time to do that, and pick up my parents from the Air port at 7:30. We get a call from my dad when we got to the factory and he said they were landing at 6:30. So we rushed through the lines got our dairy needs and drove home and to the airport in an hour. We had a fun get away its so relaxing and such a treat to be able to go and get away when every we want. We are so lucky to have a beach house close by. As we were driving away Brock said ,the beach is really one of the most relaxing places. It is , it really is.

Beach trip 1 of 2

We decided to go to the beach for the night. This was the first time Daegen was walking and at the beach. It brought a whole new element to our beach trip. We were both so excited to see him having the time of his life. He was born to be a beach bum. He would walk around and just bury his hands in the sand and then run to the water and run away form the waves. He loved chasing the seagulls and watching the dogs play catch. Then we went in to Moe's restaurant for there famous Clam chowder. Yum It as delicious. then we drove home and went to bed.

G. Hero in the making

When we first found out that our first child was going to be a boy, I think Brock was thinking about all the fun things that him and his little buddy could do together. I secretly think he couldn't wait for the day to be able to play "guitar Hero" with the kid. And I honestly think Daegen couldn't wait to come down to play with Brock. Since Brock has brought out the Wii Daegen will now go to the secret hiding spot where we put the guitars and remotes and drag them out for me to play with him. He so lucky to have a good dad to play with.

Doggy dog world

Daegen is pretty lucky to be able to have 2 dogs to play and kiss every day. He loves them. I think some times he thinks that he is a dog. He eats there food, crawls around out side on all fours, and he licks them and kisses them.

It was worth my while

Back when Daegen was about six months old I started to teach him sign language. He wasn't interested and I kind of got bored teaching him because I wasn't see any results and I thought "I'll teach him when he is a little bit older and when he will want to learn." Then he started to say words and I never really thought about signing again. Then out of the blue he was sighning food to me and saying a something like foo. So I took him into the kitchen and I let him pick something out. Then he signed me drink and I thought were did he get this from. But the funny thing is , is he still says the words with the signs or his rendition of it. So then I decided to teach him some more words and he knows those. He talks all the time still but at least when he signs we know what he wants. The cutest thing was we were at church and I put him in the nursery and at the end of church he was getting to tired and he kept signing me food but he didn't want anything I couldn't figure it out until he was signing food and pointing to his NUK. I then looked up the sign for pacifier and it very similar to food. So he was right on. Such the perfect child.

copy cat

Daegen has become quite the copy cat. He will try to say anything any one says. So for now we have to watch what we say, we can't say !@#$ or $#%^ and obviously this @#$% (J/K). Its a good thing Brock and I aren't big into cussing but we are living with my family and my youngest sister does use words like buns and boob and lots of bodily function verbs. So will see how he turns out. If he ever says anything obscene to you don't hold it against us.
don't say I didn't warn you. :) wish us luck.

Heart Broken

We had to put our dogs down today. There was an accident which our dogs were involved in and hurt another dog( not just a dog Brock's parents dog Brem) severely. My heart aches for our losses. But they have had lots of chances to redeem them selves from similar incidents. But it doesn't make this day any easier. This will be a life changing thing for us. The Millers with out any dogs?!?!? For so Long all the kids in the neighborhood new us as Blitzlii and Regans parents. That's who we were the ones with the wild dogs the kids loved to take Blitzliis blanket away and take them for walks they also loved to throw them sticks. I will be honest I have a lot more memories of Blitzlii then Regan. I guess you could say Blitzlii was there for me in my most challenging years. After every disappointing infertility appointment I would have Blitzlii to come home to and cuddle with and make me feel better. His sweet little head would be drenched in tears. I knew I always had him cry on. He even slept in our bed and he always had a blanket to suck on. Every time we left butter on the counter it would be snatched by Blitz, he L.O.V.E.D. butter. He was very spoiled which lead to a hard transition when we decided to get him a sister. We got Regan 3 years later and Blitzlii probably hated us for the first 6 months. He learned to get over it. The sweetest thing Regan ever did was she took the role of Daegens Nanny right away. When Daegen would wake up from a nap she would come and nudge my knee to tell me that the baby was up. She was always very protective of him. Blitzlii never was really into Daegen. But Daegen's first laugh was when he would watch the dogs play catch and jump up in the air,( Regan was an amazing jumper she could jump so high) then Daegen would laugh. This was when he was about 4 months old. One of Daegens First words was Blitzlii. That makes me cry thinking about it. Every time I put Daegen in his High chair he would look out the windows to find blithli (Blitzlii). I always pictured Blitzlii and Regan being in Daegens growing up years. When I picture Daegen playing in the new houses big back yard I see the dogs running with him.
I'm really crushed I have a hard time thinking about it. We never got to say our good bye's to them. They were such good family dogs they were my babies, my first children my only children for five years and I don't know if I could have gone through those 5 years with out them. I'm scared to move into our new house because I know that all these same feeling will rise to the surface again when we don't have them there to make our house a home. That's what they did for me for those 5 years with no kids is made my house a home. It will be hard. Now Every house we look at we still will be thinking about those dogs, because one of our requirements for a new house was a big yard so they could run and be free and so Daegen could run with them. All day long in my head I would think about all the good times we had with those dogs. We loved them like they were our children. It will take time to heal I guess. I just wish this whole thing was under different circumstances then I think I would feel a little bit better and that if it wasn't both dogs at the same time.
I'm really sad today don't know when I'll get over it but hopefully it will just get easier. When the movie Marley and Me came out Brock and I thought that , that movie was our life to the T. And it was totally our life x2. I guess that's why I always thought that Daegen would appreciated these dogs more before they died. Because in the movie the oldest child felt a greater loss for the dog because he was there while the boy was growing up. The dog was in all the home videos and pictures. To me a boy needs a dog and a house isn't a home with out a dog either.
Blitzlii and Regan we loved and love you. We will miss you. Thank you for all the good time we were able to share, you would of loved it out here in Oregon. The weather is mild and there are lots of forest you would of loved to get lost in. We had planed out all the places we were going to take you so you could run around and enjoy the beautiful outdoors Oregon has to offer. We couldn't wait to take you to the beach you would of loved the ocean and chasing the seagulls. We love you and will miss snuggling with you. Till we meet again. Love , your mom

super market sweep

(August 09, G.G. , Beck and Daegen)

Do you remember the show supermarket sweep? Well if you don't you should look it up, and if you do remember then I took that show to the next level today!!!
I took my 85 year old grandma and Daegen to the grocery store today. We were just doing her shopping because I knew between the two it wasn't worth the risk of heart failure. I'm glad I'm so smart because I was totally right. Picture me with a huge Car cart trying to turn the dumb thing ,with a 15 month old pulling on my hair to pull himself up to stand in the cart, Then me telling my grandmother that "Yes, we already got the bananas and No , I don't really need anything but thanks grandma, and no Daegen doesn't need any candy.
Then were on the hunt for T.P. and Daegen decides that he likes to look at everything up side down so he is hanging upside down off the cart. so were off to the check out and I tell me grandma that I"ll wait in line so she can go fill her prescription. So I chose a register right in front of the pharmacy. The cashier was taking her sweet time and my grandma was done filling her prescription and she for gets were I"m at. I'm starring at her she looks like shes lost. As Its my turn in line I tell the lady can we hurry things up my grandma is out the door and I'm afraid she will get lost she some times forgets were shes at. So finally my grandma walks back in and I"m jumping up and down and waving my arms to get her attention while Daegen is doing flips in my arms and the cashier is scanning her grocery's. Finally my grandma See's me and I think she was totally embarrassed and acted like her recent memory loss didn't happen. Then I take out the money she gave me to pay for the groceries and my grandma says put your money away. Once again she forgot that she gave me money to purchase her groceries for her. I explained to her that this was her money I was purchasing the grocery's with.
We were finally done with the store and as we drove home we reminisced about the good old days. I was able to tell her what an amazing grandmother she is and was, and How most of my child hood memories were with her and Poppy. I mean what child gets Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny stopping by there own house and then there grandparents house too. She always went the extra mile on everything.
When I wrote this, I merely want to remember that I was lucky enough to be able to be with both my grandmother and my son, and the experiences you get from putting both them together. Not a lot of people can say that they get that chance too, every week see 4 generation together. We are very lucky.

Valentines weekend

The Saturday before Valentines day we decided to take a Miller adventure and we went down town Portland and had breakfast and then we went up on the gondola to OHSU to see the view of Portland. It was a little cloudy so we couldn't see MT. Hood or any of the mountains. But we still had fun and Daegen loved it.

Wine and Roses

This weekend we went to what is called Wine and Roses. Its a PSU Athletic Department Fund raiser. Its a Wine tasting and Auctions{ Both a silent and Fast Auction} and a dinner. It was held at the Nike Campus in the Tiger woods Building. I thought that was very appropriate right? a wine and roses dinner in the tiger woods building. HA ha anyways I thought It was pretty funny.
I got in trouble by brock that night, because Right when I got there I followed my mom and started putting stickers on all these auction items. I thought that we would get bid out. So I was busted. We had about 5 min tell the auction ended and we had about $600 on the table. whoops. but everything worked out and we ended with some great items and didn't have to spend $600. Thanks Dad and Mom for a great night.

whos the boss

We went into trader Joes today and its actually a great store to take your kids into. They have a "find the pirate" game to play( they hide a monkey pirate in the store and each day its in a new place and then they get a toy from the treasure chest when they find it). They also have miniature grocery carts. Now that Daegen walks he likes to walk. So we get into the store and he spotted the carts his size there was no turning back he grabbed on one and never let go. We did have a tantrum leaving the store because he wanted to stay and push the cart around some more. But the question is which is better the minni cart or the car cart. I like the mini because it gets him tired, for maybe a little nap:)

K I'm ready .
come on mom. catch up with me .
I think I need some lemons.

home beach

We had a little get away this weekend, We went to home beach. Heres Brock and Daegen on some adventures. We went on a short hike trying to see if we could see a light house while it was pouring down rain. Then we went on the beach for a short little walk.

Daegen in his cute little hat. one of my moms friends made this hat for him especially for the beach house.
